Josh Mojica, millionaire at 18; kangkong chips business, there is a factory!
In January 2022, teenager Josh Mojica (foreground left) was featured earning PHP150,000 per month making kangkong chips. Today, Josh is 18 years old and a certified millionaire.
Every month, Josh, from Cavite, was earning PHP150,000 even though he had only started his business six months ago. He started in June 2021 by manually cooking kangkong chips and selling them to his acquaintances. He worked with his classmates in making and packing kangkong chips, which was his aunt's recipe. There were orders from other regions in the country and even outside the country, such as Canada and the U.S. A year has passed since Josh was featured, now 18 years old, he is a certified millionaire. He has already built a huge chips factory, has a hundred employees, has bought a van, and has just built a bigger two-storey factory that they will move to.
Josh gave an update on the Julius Babao UNPLUGGED vlog on December 5, 2022. He showed the factory and the step-by-step process of making kangkong chips—from cleaning the leaves, breading, frying, draining to packing them. His product has seven flavors: sour cream, honey butter, chocolate, barbecue, cheese, classic, and spicy. Josh's story, last year he experienced earning PHP1 million. But he was not complacent. He said, "I am very grateful, but it seems like there is really pressure. The pressure is great. "I wasn't immediately like, 'I'm a millionaire, I'm okay with that!' It was like, 'Okay, we're here now. What do we do next?'" He said that is not the time "for you to relax or be complacent." When January 2022 arrived, he had a factory, bought a van for delivery, and hired 50 people who soon reached 100.
When Josh was featured by media outlets last year, he said he had the courage to start the business when the grandfather who raised him passed away. The grandfather preached to him: life is hard so the dream should be high.
