Making homemade ice cream is a fun and delicious activity! Here is a simple recipe for making vanilla ice cream at home without an ice cream maker:

Ingredients:

2 cups heavy cream

1 cup whole milk

3/4 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions:

Mix the Ingredients:

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, and vanilla extract until the sugar is completely dissolved.

Chill the Mixture:

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight. This step helps the flavors to meld and the mixture to become cold.

Freeze the Ice Cream:

After chilling, pour the mixture into a shallow, freezer-safe container. Place the container in the freezer.

Stir the Ice Cream:

Every 30 minutes, remove the container from the freezer and stir the ice cream vigorously with a spatula or whisk. This helps break up ice crystals and creates a smooth texture. Repeat this process 3-4 times.

Final Freeze:

After the final stir, let the ice cream freeze for at least 4-6 hours or until it reaches the desired consistency.

Serve:

Scoop the homemade ice cream into bowls or cones and enjoy!

Tips:

You can add mix-ins like chocolate chips, nuts, or fruit to customize your ice cream.

For different flavors, you can infuse the cream with ingredients like cocoa powder, coffee, or mint extract.

How can I make a dairy-free version of strawberry cheesecake ice cream?

Creating a dairy-free version of strawberry cheesecake ice cream is easy and delicious! Here's a simple recipe for dairy-free strawberry cheesecake ice cream using coconut milk as a creamy base:

Ingredients:

2 cans (13.5 oz each) full-fat coconut milk, chilled

1/2 cup maple syrup or agave nectar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped

1/2 cup crushed graham crackers (ensure they are dairy-free)

Instructions:

Chill the Coconut Milk:

Place the cans of coconut milk in the refrigerator overnight. This helps separate the cream from the liquid.

Prepare the Ice Cream Base:

Open the chilled cans of coconut milk and scoop out the thick coconut cream into a mixing bowl. Discard the liquid or save it for other recipes.

Add maple syrup and vanilla extract to the coconut cream. Whip the mixture until smooth and creamy.

In a blender or food processor, puree the fresh strawberries until smooth.

Combine Ingredients:

Gently fold the strawberry puree into the coconut cream mixture until well combined. Add in the crushed graham crackers and mix gently.

Churn the Ice Cream:

Pour the mixture into a freezer-safe container. Cover and freeze for 4-6 hours, stirring every 30 minutes to break up ice crystals and create a smooth texture.

Serve:

Once the ice cream reaches the desired consistency, scoop it into bowls or cones and enjoy your dairy-free strawberry cheesecake ice cream!
