The Licensure Exam for Teachers (LET) is a pivotal assessment that serves as a gateway to the teaching profession in the Philippines. Aspiring educators undergo rigorous testing to demonstrate their competence and readiness to embark on a career in teaching. Understanding the intricacies of the LET process, from passing criteria to registration procedures, is essential for individuals aspiring to join the esteemed ranks of educators in the country.

Passing Criteria and Professional Obligations:

To qualify in the LET, an examinee must achieve an average rating of not less than 75% and must not obtain a rating lower than 50% in any of the tests. This stringent criterion ensures that successful candidates possess the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in the teaching profession. Moreover, holding a valid professional license issued by the Commission is mandatory for individuals to practice as teachers in the Philippines. Failure to comply with these regulations may result in penalties, including fines and imprisonment, as stipulated by the law.

Registration and Oathtaking Procedures:

Upon passing the LET, successful examinees are required to register online for the issuance of their Professional Identification Card and Certificate of Registration. The registration process, detailed on the official PRC website (www.prc.gov.ph), involves submitting essential documents and fulfilling specific requirements. Personal attendance and participation in the oathtaking ceremony, where new professionals pledge their commitment to uphold the standards of the teaching profession, are fundamental aspects of the registration process.
