A Review of Previous Physical Therapist and Occupational Therapist Licensure Exam Results

Over the past few years, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has showcased remarkable efficiency and consistency in releasing the results of the Physical Therapist Licensure Exam (PTLE) and Occupational Therapist Licensure Exam (OTLE). The swift turnaround time of just two working days for result announcements has become a hallmark of PRC's commitment to transparency and professionalism in the licensure process.

In the December 2023 exams, a total of 1,288 out of 1,884 candidates successfully passed the PTLE, while 323 out of 554 candidates excelled in the OTLE. This high pass rate is a testament to the dedication and preparation of aspiring therapists who underwent rigorous testing to demonstrate their proficiency in their respective fields.

Similarly, in the June 2023 PTLE-OTLE, PRC continued its trend of efficiency by announcing results within two working days. With 708 out of 1,026 PTLE candidates and 128 out of 215 OTLE candidates passing the exams, the commitment to maintaining high standards in the licensure process was evident.

The December 2022 exams also saw PRC's swift release of results within two working days. A significant number of candidates, 1,186 out of 1,981 for PTLE and 241 out of 484 for OTLE, achieved success, reflecting the quality of education and training provided to future therapists.

In the June 2022 PT-OT board exams, results were promptly disclosed within two working days, underscoring PRC's efficiency and reliability. With 564 out of 1,032 PTLE candidates and 88 out of 247 OTLE candidates passing the exams, the licensure process continued to uphold the highest standards of competence and professionalism.

Contrastingly, in the December 2021 board exams, results were announced after four working days, deviating from the usual trend of quick releases. Despite the slight delay, the commendable performance of 978 out of 1,418 PTLE candidates and 283 out of 400 OTLE candidates demonstrated the unwavering commitment of aspiring therapists to excel in their chosen profession.

Initial Registration for New Professionals

The schedule of Online Registration of new passers/successful examinees for the issuance of their licenses will be held on the following dates:

Initial registrants are advised to register online via PRC Official Website (Online Registration Page) and follow the steps in online registration. Here are the registration requirements:

• Notice of Admission/NOA (for identification purposes only)
• Duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal
• Two (2) pieces of passport-sized ID photos in white background and with complete name tag
• Two (2) sets of documentary stamp
• One (1) piece short brown envelope
• Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.

Verification of Rating

The verification of ratings for the June 2024 Physical Therapist Licensure Exam (PTLE) will be available online few working days after the posting of results.

Successful takers can refer to PRC Official Website and use the Verification Page to know their board examination passing rate.

As posted, a passer shall only provide the exam name, the date of examination, the application number, first name and last name and the birth-date.

Oath-Taking Ceremonies

The COVID-19 pandemic is over and the Professional Regulation Commission has already started conducting face-to-face oath-taking for new professionals.

All successful examinees interested in attending the face-to-face mass oath-taking shall register no later than 12:00 NN of the day before the date of the oath-taking at http://online.prc.gov.ph to confirm their attendance. The exact date, of whether the oath-taking will be conducted face-to-face or virtual, will be provided here once announced.

Further, inductees shall bring ANY of the following on the day of the oath-taking:

Vaccination Card

Negative RT-PCR results taken within 48 hours before the oath-taking

Inductees are advised to register and confirm their attendance in the regions where they took their licensure examination and intend to register as professionals.

Meanwhile, those who will not be able to attend the scheduled face-to-face mass oath-taking may attend the online oath-taking or request for a special oath-taking.

Out of the 811 individuals who undertook the rigorous PTLE, a commendable 516 candidates successfully navigated the challenges posed by the examination, translating to an impressive pass rate of 63.63%. These triumphant passers have demonstrated their proficiency and readiness to enter the field of physical therapy, equipped with the knowledge and skills essential for providing quality care and service to those in need.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) in collaboration with the Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy orchestrated the PTLE across key locations in Manila, Baguio, Cebu, and Davao on the 5th and 6th of June 2024. This multi-city examination not only tested the academic preparedness of the candidates but also evaluated their practical competencies in the realm of physical therapy.

In parallel to the PTLE, the PRC also orchestrated the Occupational Therapists Licensure Exam (OTLE) on June 3 and 4, a testament to their commitment to ensuring the competence and proficiency of healthcare professionals across various disciplines. The Interim Board of Occupational Therapy, under the leadership of Hon. Eduardo R. Peregrino, Jr. as Chairman, and Hon. Delia R. Pabalan and Hon. Rolland Lyle D. Duque as Members, oversaw the successful administration of the OTLE, further solidifying the standards of excellence upheld by the regulatory bodies.
